Providence Training

ECI Skills Accelerator 2

A new project offering up to 14 days of free training, including 7 ECITB accredited awards.

Would this help you to get a job in the Energy Sector?

We think it could! .....

What’s it all about?

Opportunities to work in the Energy Sector have never been better and will only improve. The Government is driving for greener energy and for the UK to become more self sufficient. As a result, projects are being commissioned across the UK. From wave and wind generation, Hydrogen generation and Carbon capture to nuclear power stations there are and will be an abundance of opportunities for those with the right skills and qualifications.

For many years now, the companies that work on these types of sites have struggled to employ enough people to complete the required work on time. This Skills Shortage has been recognised by UK Government and this project is one of the initiatives put in place, by them, to help  to solve the problem.

What will I do on this project?

The SPF ECI Skills Accelerator 2 Project will  put you through the following ECITB (Engineering Construction Training Board) accredited awards:

Working at Heights

Medium Risk Confined Space Entry

Working safely with Hand Tools

Manual Handling

Abrasive Wheels

CCNSG Site Safety Passport

Firewatcher

Introduction to Coded Welding

This 14 day package is specifically designed to provide you with the basic skills and awards which will give you the best chance of gaining employment within the  Engineering Construction phase of Energy Sector sites.

Do I qualify for this project?

The only criteria for joining this project are:

Age 16 or over

Must be a UK national or a permanent resident in the UK for at least three years on the first day of learning

Must reside in Pembrokeshire

What can I do with this training afterwards?

You could go straight into work – the awards you will gain are sufficient to give you an excellent chance at a ground level job with an engineering company where you could gain further skills, awards and experience.

Alternatively, you could apply for courses run at Pembrokeshire College in conjunction with the ECITB, such as the Work Ready programme which is a programme designed to feed companies with appropriately trained individuals who wish to gain a recognised trade such as Welding or Pipe Fitting.

Or, you may chose to embark on a longer term qualification through higher education. The world is your oyster and this is just the start – it’s up to you to make it happen!
