SKILLS ACCELERATOR PROJECT

WHAT IS THE SKILLS ACCELERATOR PROJECT?

The Skills Accelerator project is a Pembrokeshire initiative aimed those considering the Energy Sector as a career option.

Opportunities to work in the Energy Sector have never been better and will only improve. The Government is driving for greener energy and for the UK to become more self sufficient . As a result, projects are being commissioned across the UK. From wave and wind generation, Hydrogen generation and Carbon capture to nuclear power stations there are and will be an abundance of opportunities for those with the right skills and qualifications.

Additionally employment opportunities exist within the companies that build and work on these types of sites who, due to the current skills shortage,  struggle to employ enough people to complete the required work on time. This Skills Shortage has been recognised by UK Government and the SPF Skills Accelerator project is one of the initiatives put in place in order to help solve this issue.

The project is funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF) with a successful bid being procured by Pembrokeshire College via Pembrokeshire County Council. Providence Training are subcontracting with Pembrokeshire College to provide the training and awards.
