David commented “At Providence Training we are passionate about attracting Pembrokehire people into the Engineering Construction Sector. Both at a local level and nationally construction projects are feeling the pinch of the skills shortage. This shortage of skilled labour is not going to go away without intervention and this programme is a great example of what can be achieved through collaboration between Further Education, local business and Sector bodies and will, undoubtedly, result in an injection of new blood into the Sector”

The Work Ready Programme has selected an intake of unemployed individuals, via application and interview, and over the next 16 weeks will provide them with a portfolio of skills and awards aimed at careers within the Engineering Construction Sector.

This will be supplemented by sector specific work experience and the ECITB’s Bronze Award package, delivered by Providence Training and to include the CCNSG Site Safety Passport, ECITB Manual Handling, Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Abrasive Wheels, Working Safely with Hand Tools and Fire Watcher.
